Programs and Networks to Monetize your Blog or Website

• Pay per Sale (PPS) Programs
These types of offers are probably the closest thing that you can find to the standard brick and mortar retail tradition of a salesman getting a commission to sale a product. Many online retailers such as
HHUUhttp://www.cj.com/UUHH , HHUUwww.Amazon.comUUHH , and many others offer pay per sale affiliate programs giving their affiliates typically 4-15% commissions on sales. These types of offers work well on informational sites such as blogs, provided that the products you are promoting are targeted to your site visitors.

Example #1: Site Dedicated to Fishing
This site features information about fishing spots, reviews about new fishing poles, products, etc. As you review a product, you can place a specific affiliate link to that product on an online retailer’s store, and expect a decent conversion and click-through rate (this depends mostly on your website’s traffic).

Example #2: Affiliate Based Site Selling Video Cameras
Many pay per sale affiliates offer data feeds for all of their products available through their online retail store. Using these feeds, you can build your own affiliate based online store selling their products. There are many software packages that will help you automate the process of building affiliate sites around data feeds.

While in many instances online retail stores run their own independent affiliate programs, typically the best places to find

these types of programs are through the following affiliate networks:

HHUULinkShareUUHH

• Pay per Lead or CPA Programs
These types of programs generally pay you for sending lead information (data) to an online company. Leads can vary greatly from only being one field such as an e-mail address or zip code, to being an extensive form on in-depth financial information (such as that required for loan or credit card leads). Obviously, the best converting programs are the ones that require the least amount of personal information. These types of programs work well if your site’s audience isn’t necessarily prepared to by something online. They tend to convert well on ‘freebie type sites’ (example) as well as informational sites.

The best cpa network is Neverblue

• Pay per Impressions (CPM) Programs
These programs are great for sites that have very high traffic levels. I generally don’t recommend using them on their own, because PPS and PPL programs tend to be more profitable. CPM programs do however offer a wonderful opportunity to increase your site’s cash flow when used in conjunction with PPS and PPL programs. In addition, they are a great way to diversify your site’s income stream.

• Contextual Advertising
Pretty much all sites can profit to some degree or another from contextual advertising. It is a wonderful, non-intrusive, way to complement your current advertising (PPS & PPL), and to provide an additional source of income. In addition, they are a great way to diversify your site’s income stream.

The best contextual advertising network is HHUUGoogle AdSenseUUHH.

So Why do You need a website or blog for? There are several very profitable ways to make money with a website. It consists on establishing a website using affiliate marketing that will run on autopilot after you set it up. You should probably know what affiliate marketing is… if you don’t know, well it is basically promoting and selling other people’s products and/or services and get paid a commission for referring sales to them.
The advantage of having your own website or blog is that you can integrate affiliate program products and services in your page content. i.e. : You can create a website about “Cooking”, which has a variety of news articles, new cooking appliances, discussion boards and links to other cooking and recipes websites, etc. and let’s say you have an article about a new unique recipe. The article talks about the ingredients, how it should be cooked, etc… then you put a link to “X” store (i.e. “for more delicious recipes like this one, click the following link) and when people click they are sent to the website where they can buy the hard cover book or ebook where you got this recipe from. The Key Element here is that the link you insert into your article contains your unique affiliate “id”, so when a person clicks the link, they will automatically land in the product page they were looking for, but you are referring the sale. That means you will get a commission if the person who clicked on your link buys the product. Pretty easy huh? … well it’s not as easy as it may sound if you’re a beginner, but you can do it if you put the proper effort into it.

How to Install Wordpress using Fantastico

hand rssInstall Wordpress on your own hosting webserver using Fantastico

First Step: Check if your hosting service has the “Fantastico” Feature.

-if it does, you need to go to your account’s cpanel or administration page and look for the Fantastico icon, browse through the categories and find the Wordpress installation link (usually under the blogs category) select it and fill in the necessary blanks(make sure you type an admin username and password) The installation process should be ready almost immediately after clicking the install button. To go to the administration you need to go to http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin (change “yourdomain.com” with your actual domain name naturally) and log to the admin.

-if it doesn’t have Fantastico, You need to take a deep breath! - First, you need to go to http://www.wordpress.org and download the latest wordpress platform, save it to your computer, decompress the file in your computer, upload all the files to your hosting account root folder via FTP (we use CoreFTP, find it at www.download.com) and follow the instructions included in the downloaded Wordpress file to configure and install the Wordpress platform in your hosting database.
